I’m excited to share that I’ve successfully completed training in BS99001:2022 – Built Environment Quality Management Systems!
BS99001:2022 is a new British Standard that builds upon ISO 9001 but is specifically tailored for the construction and built environment sector. It was introduced in July 2022 to address the unique challenges of managing quality in construction projects.
Key highlights of BS99001:2022:
- Sector-specific focus: Unlike the generic ISO 9001, BS99001 uses the language and practices of the construction industry, making it highly relevant to project delivery. Enhanced quality processes: It strengthens design quality, competence management, and temporary works planning to ensure projects meet client expectations. Improved collaboration: Recognises the multi-stakeholder nature of construction projects and provides frameworks to align teams around quality. Future-proofing: Helps organisations embed resilience and consistency in their quality management systems, ensuring long-term trust in the built environment.
Completing this course has deepened my understanding of how quality management can be applied more effectively in construction, and I’m looking forward to applying these principles in practice.
